The choice

First, always remember, no one gave a dog or cat a choice to be owned by a human. They are ripped from their mother at 8 weeks old and taken away from their own species. You caused the puppy or kitten to be an orphan. She had a perfectly healthy mother and family and you took them away from that.

If given the choice, would a puppy or kitten choose you over their own mother? No!! They would rather stay with their warm mother and their siblings. How do I know this? Because they cry for their mother when we get them home. Puppies and kittens often look about to see where their mother and siblings are. I don’t know how people can continue to keep puppies or kittens that are crying for their mother and siblings. This seems like cold and callous behavior by human beings.

If given the choice, a puppy would stay with his own mother and dog family and he would love them NOT you. A kitten would choose to stay with her own mother and cat family and she would love them NOT you.

If you could sit down and talk with a puppy or kitten and give them a choice to go home with you all by their-selves, without their mother and siblings and live in a boring house alone all day OR stay with his family, he would rather stay with his own family. This is common sense and should be common empathy. You should be able to feel this in your heart.

You think the puppy loves you when you see him at the store or breeders because he approaches you, wagging his tail and licking you. He is checking you out because he is curious about his surroundings, and you are something interesting in his environment. If you look around, she is doing that to all the humans and would do that with any other animal. He has no idea you are going to take him away from his own mother and siblings and his own species.

Puppies and kittens are naturally submissive when they are young because they need the help of their mother and family. Wagging tails, licking and crawling are signs of submission, NOT love.

Humans do not or will not understand that this does not mean love. Puppies are very cute and very vulnerable! We misread and take advantage of that vulnerability.

You want a new puppy? You love puppies; you say? Well, then get the mother of that puppy and all the siblings and bring them home together. If you love the puppy, let him stay with his mother and family. How can you possibly say you love puppies if you tear them away from their own mother to live in a house full of strangers and all alone with no siblings to play with? To sit all day in a lonely house till you come home from work.
